Management Assistant - Maternity Cover

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Management Assistant to support 8 scientists in the Computing Research Division at QuTech for a six-month maternity cover. As a Management Assistant, you will support  scientists on a daily basis. You will manage their hectic schedules and understand the support they need. Both within the organization and for external relations, you will be the first point of contact, prioritizing requests and information.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting PhD and Postdoc researchers in these research groups.
  • Organizing meetings with internal and/or external participants.
  • Arranging business travel from A to Z.
  • Monitoring the procurement process and the status of orders.
  • Managing the administrative process for new starters and ensuring everything is up to date.

Job requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic and independent colleague with a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude. You are a team player and a strong communicator, and providing excellent support is what motivates you. You handle stress well and can easily switch between different tasks while maintaining a clear overview.

In addition, you have:

  • An MBO+ or HBO-level education with approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in an operational and administrative role.
  • Excellent command of English; Dutch is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • An EU passport or a valid Dutch work permit.

 

Availability to start in June or beginning july is required.

QuTech

QuTech is a mission-driven research institute run jointly by Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). Conditions of employment 

As a Management Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting scientists in their pursuit of groundbreaking discoveries, contributing indirectly to the achievement of significant milestones. You will endorse a divers role in a dynamic, informal, and international working environment. You will receive a 

  • Temporary contract of 6 or 7 months depending on the start date.
  • A position of 32 hours per week. 
  • A salary based on Schaal 08 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a salary between €3218 - €4298 gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.  
  • An excellent pension scheme via the ABP. 
  • Discount with health insurers on supplemental packages. 
  • Up to 41 holiday days per year.
