Research Assistant - Environment Perception for Intelligent Vehicles
Job description
The Intelligent Vehicles group at TU Delft (http://www.intelligent-vehicles.org) is seeking a Research Assistant with an interest in performing cutting edge research in the area of self-driving vehicles. The position is part of the EU project EVENTS (reliablE in-Vehicle pErception and decisioN-making in complex environmenTal conditionS).
The position involves the curation of large automotive datasets (e.g. EuroCity Person) involving camera, LiDAR and/or radar data, in order to make them available for benchmarking to the larger scientific community. A key aspect is the development of efficient (semi) automatic techniques for the generation of ground truth concerning 3D location of road users (e.g. vehicles) and detailed map data (e.g. lanes).
Job requirements
We are seeking applicants with a completed MSc Degree in AI / Robotics or related discipline. Prospective applicants should have a strong academic record with a solid background in Machine Learning. Knowledge in sensor data processing. Good programming skills (e.g. Python, C++) and knowledge of deep-learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch) are expected. The successful candidate is expected to be able to act independently as well as to collaborate effectively with members of a larger team. Good English skills are required. The work takes place in Delft, The Netherlands.

Conditions of employment
- Duration of contract is 3 months + 6 months (after EU EVENTS project extension) Temporary
- A job of 32-40 hours per week.
- A salary based on Schaal 08 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a salary between €3218 - €4298 gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
