Job description
You will be part of a research team within an ERC funded project within the Laan Lab. The team will study how core cellular functions can be remarkably stable while the underlying molecular processes diversify during evolution using budding yeast as a model system. They will use a variety of experimental and computational methods. The team will also exist of two PhD students and a Post-doc who will perform experimental evolution, live cell microscopy and multiscale modeling and will have quantitative backgrounds (i.e. physics, bioinformatics or quantitative biology). You will be the yeast genetics expert in the team, responsible for strain construction, cloning and to prepare samples for genome sequencing and mass spectrometry. You will work with students, help train new lab members, help with lab management and be enthusiastic about participating in work discussions.
